About Us
We are Simply Church; a group of all ages who are discovering together what it means to follow Jesus. We are growing in our love for him, for each other and for the communities God has placed us in. We are looking to develop a lifestyle of daily discipleship, where being a Christian is not about a Sunday attendance, but how we connect, grow, serve, give and love every day. Our primary gatherings are in smaller groups – home churches, that usually meet in homes, in different locations, alongside one to one discipleship every day. We then corporately gather in the Pow Wow Cafe for celebration and encouragement. If you want to find out more, or would like to link to a home church, then get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
Our Statement Of Faith
God
We want to be Passionate worshippers of God. This is the greatest command Jesus left us to love him with all we are, and this is central to our walk as Christians.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of the spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again one day to earth to reign as King.
The Bible
We believe The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.
People
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our lives.
Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one recieves Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
This is Simply Church
We are ordinary people of all ages and backgrounds, learning what it is to love and follow Jesus, as we love each other and reach out to our communities. We meet in small groups – home church families – where we can be real and raw with each other, as we learn to walk like Jesus did.
We believe following Jesus is simple, yet we often complicate it, and make our faith about things we think are important rather than what Jesus says are important.
Discipleship and mission is at the heart of what we do as expressed in Jesus’ great commandment to us, and this is lived out through our home churches. We do also meet together as a larger church, but this is secondary to our home churches and the mission God has given us.
